How a Wisconsin Family Law Firm Tripled Its Organic Clicks in About Eight Months
A Wisconsin-based family law firm came to Raeva Media with a modest search footprint and untapped demand across the state. Since onboarding on November 1, its organic clicks have more than tripled, impressions have nearly tripled to 1.69M, and it now ranks for roughly 2,477 keywords — the vast majority of that traffic coming from people who weren't searching the firm by name.

The Challenge
When the firm engaged Raeva Media on November 1, its organic presence didn’t reflect the demand for family law help across Wisconsin. A November baseline showed the site tracking just 684 keywords, with only 18 in Google’s top three and a thin footprint in the emerging AI answer results. In the prior six months, Google Search Console recorded 4.72K clicks against 588K impressions, at an average position of 12.6 — respectable, but leaving most of the state’s searchers finding competitors first.
The opportunity was clear: a steady, compounding organic program that captures the many high-intent questions Wisconsin families search — before, during, and after a legal matter.
The Strategy
Raeva Media built a compounding organic program around four workstreams running in parallel.
- Publish with intent. A consistent content cadence targeted the real questions Wisconsin families search around divorce, custody, and related family law matters — expanding the firm’s footprint across the full funnel rather than a handful of head terms.
- Strengthen the technical foundation. Ongoing site hygiene kept the growing library of pages crawlable and indexable, so new content could rank rather than sit unseen.
- Build regional authority. Wisconsin-focused optimization targeted the queries most closely tied to in-state lead flow, deepening relevance for the firm’s actual service area.
- Earn AI citations. As search shifts toward AI-generated answers, we tracked and worked to increase how often AI systems mention and cite the firm as a trusted source.
The Results
Google Search Console (last six months vs. the prior six):
| Metric | Before | After | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total clicks | 4.72K | 16.1K | +241% |
| Total impressions | 588K | 1.69M | +187% |
| Average CTR | 0.8% | 1.0% | +0.2 pts |
| Average position | 12.6 | 9.9 | +2.7 |
This is the healthiest possible pattern: impressions and clicks both surged, average position improved, and click-through rate rose at the same time. More reach, more clicks, and a higher share of those impressions turning into visits.
Organic rankings (SEMrush, Nov 3 → Jul 8) grew roughly 3.6×, with the largest gains in the mid-page positions that feed the pipeline of future top-ten rankings:
| Google position | Nov 3 | Jul 8 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top 3 | 18 | 23 | +5 |
| 4–10 | 80 | 141 | +61 |
| 11–20 | 74 | 250 | +176 |
| 21–50 | 216 | 855 | +639 |
| 51–100 | 209 | 1,049 | +840 |
| AI Overviews | 19 | 84 | +65 |
| Total keywords | 684 | 2,477 | ≈3.6× |
A current SEMrush domain snapshot shows ~2.5K organic keywords, an estimated 709 monthly organic visits, and ~$1.1K in equivalent traffic value — of which 621 visits are non-branded. That’s roughly 88% of organic traffic coming from people finding the firm without searching its name: pure new-client demand.
One honest note on traffic estimates: SEMrush’s estimated monthly traffic figure fluctuates month to month (it dipped slightly in the latest reading). That’s normal for a third-party model. The source of truth — Google’s own Search Console data — shows clicks up 3.4× over the comparable period, which is the number that matters.
AI / LLM visibility climbed sharply over the engagement. From October 2025 to July 2026, citations grew from 100 to 529 (roughly 5×), cited pages from 61 to 161, and mentions from 9 to 16 — while AI-Overview keyword placements rose from 19 to 84. As Google and AI assistants increasingly answer questions directly, the firm is becoming a source those answers point to.
Why It Matters
This is a compounding asset, not rented attention. Every published page and earned ranking keeps working month after month, delivering qualified Wisconsin leads without paying per click. In about eight months the firm tripled its organic clicks and roughly quadrupled the AI citations feeding the next era of search — building a foundation that only strengthens as the program continues.
What’s Next
- Push more mid-page keywords into the top 10, converting the large 11–50 gains into first-page visibility.
- Deepen Wisconsin regional authority across the firm’s core family law service areas.
- Sustain the content and AI-visibility engine so rankings and citations keep compounding.
